Weather Warning as Wind, Cold Air Arrive
Damaging winds and dangerous sub-zero cold air expected, according to National Weather Service

Some of the season’s coldest air will be blowing fiercely into the region Saturday night and through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
High Wind Warning
A high wind warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday. A high wind warning means that a damaging wind event is expected.

Winds will be blowing between 30 to 40 mph, with gusts reaching up to 60 mph, according to the NWS.
“Downed trees and power lines may result in power outages,” according to the NWS. “Minor structural damage will be possible.”

In a high wind warning, the weather service warns those living near large trees should remain in lower levels of your home or seek shelter elsewhere, if possible.
Wind Chill Advisory
A wind chill advisory is in effect from midnight Saturday night until noon Sunday. A wind chill advisory means frost bite and hypothermia are possible if precautions aren’t taken.
Temperatures will be around 10 degrees, but the wind chill will reach as low as 15 below in some parts of the region.
Those outside should wear a hat and gloves.
