The first topic covered was Loudoun County’s population boom. Between 1990 and 2000, the population doubled from 87,000 to 174,000, and it’s expected to surpass 400,000 this decade. But this population growth is by no means hampering the great benefits of living here. “No county in Virginia has ever grown at the rate of Loudoun for a sustained period and maintained the low real estate tax rate that we have enjoyed,” says Loudoun County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Edgar Hatrick.

Education also plays an important role in Loudoun County’s growth. Residents’ drive to get the best education for their families is profound and the results are evident. More than 97% of students in Loudoun County graduated on time last spring, far better than the national average. Loudoun continues to work to push this number even higher, placing students in the best possible position for future success.
Economy
The County’s unemployment rate also fares better than the national average – hovering around 4%. Aside from employment, this also shows that the local economy is strong and buzzing with potential. This couldn’t be more ideal for any family relocating to the area or a professional looking for the next venture.
According to the Loudoun Times, “Loudoun’s continued growth – be it people, homes, offices, roads or rails – is inevitable.
