What's Open, Closed For Memorial Day 2024 In Ashburn
Services will be closed or adjusted for the Memorial Day holiday around Loudoun County as residents take time to reflect.

ASHBURN, VA — The unofficial start of summer kicks off with Memorial Day weekend. In Ashburn and the rest of Loudoun County, government facilities and offices will close.
The long holiday weekend is a time families reflect on American military servicemembers who died in the line of duty. It is also a time to enjoy summer festivities like beach trips, barbecues and more.

For anyone who is looking for other information about Memorial Day openings and closings, here's list of relevant information for Loudoun County:
- Loudoun County government offices: Closed on May 27.
- Town of Leesburg government offices: Closed on May 27.
- State courts: Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed May 27.
- Loudoun County Public Schools: Schools and offices are closed on May 27.
- Department of Motor Vehicles: The Virginia DMV offices are closed on May 27.
- Loudoun County Transit: There will be no commuter bus service, local bus service, or Loudoun County Courthouse shuttle service on May 27.
- Community centers and senior centers: Community centers are closed on May 27 and return to normal hours on May 28. All senior centers and adult day centers will be closed on May 27.
- Library: The Loudoun County Public Library will be closed on May 27.
- Metro: Metrorail will 7 a.m. and close at midnight on May 27. Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule. On the Blue and Silver Lines, free shuttle buses replace trains between Addison Road and Downtown Largo. Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo stations are closed. - Parks and recreation: Loudoun County park grounds, trails, gardens, playgrounds, off-leash areas, skate parks, courts, and fields are open to the public from dawn to dusk. Park buildings and offices are closed on May 27. The Franklin Park Arts Center will be closed on May 27.
- Pools: The Lovettsville Community Center outdoor pool will be open from 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on May 27, and the Round Hill Aquatic Center will be closed. The Franklin Regional Park Pool opening is delayed until June 14. The splash pad at Franklin Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 27. Admission to the splash pad will be free of charge until the Franklin Park outdoor pool fully opens in June.
- Post offices: Closed on May 27.
- Recreation centers: Loudoun County recreation centers are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 27.
- Leesburg trash pickup: The Town of Leesburg will not collect trash, recycling or yard waste on May 27. Collections will be shifted by one day that week.
