Willowsford Farm: Winter CSA Shares on Sale Now

Winter CSA Sign-ups for the winter CSA are now open. We loved doing winter CSA last year and we love the idea of growing food all year round. Winter production is a bit of the Undiscovered Country and we plan to grow the program over the next several years. This year we’ll go through the end of January with veggies, eggs and chicken.

Winter shares may (this is important!) include greens like spinach, kale, Swiss chard, and pac choi; cole crops like cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower; starches like sweet potatoes, potatoes and winter squash; herbs, scallions, shallots and onions; salad fixings; roots like carrots, beets, turnips and radishes; and occasionally summer crops that we put up: tomato sauce, sauerkraut, pesto. It’s a fun, fresh mix. The selection and harvest is quite weather dependent – some crops you’ll see in December but may not hold out into January depending on our winter.

There are two pickup options: Wednesdays at the Willowsford Farm Stand from 2 – 7 PM and Wednesdays at the Willowsford Boat House from 3 – 7 PM (exact pick-up location addresses are listed at signup). You don't have to live in the community to participate in the farm's CSA program (or shop at the farm during the main season). The farm is open to all!

As last year, we’ll offer as much choice as possible each week, dependent on what is available to harvest and what we’ve harvested and put up this fall.
