Win a Pinball Machine at Mighty Mikes Bar and Grill in Sterling

DMV Pinball League has opened registration for an 8-week match play competition and a chance to win your very own pinball machine.

Beginning January 26th, professional and amateur pinballers alike from across the DMV area will compete weekly at their choice of five regional venues including Mighty Mike’s Bar and Grill in Sterling.

Mighty Mikes is an established family owned and operated bar and grill offering smoking and nonsmoking areas, a full bar with a daily happy hour, lunch and dinner specials, 6 pinball machines, 3 pool tables, and 19 dart boards.

DMV Pinball League offers its members five regional venue options: Two in D.C., two in Maryland, and Mighty Mikes in Sterling, Virginia. “I get to choose which location I play each week, so I can play on the nights that work best depending on what’s happening with my family.” says Cristin Gasson, mother of four and 9th place contestant in Maryland’s 2013 pinball competition.

DMV Pinball League offers World Pinball Player Rankings (WPPR) for the International Flipper Pinball Association State Championship Series (IFPA SCS). IFPA created the WPPR to establish the first official worldwide ranking system of pinball players. At the end of each calendar year, the top 16 players from each state will qualify for that state’s IFPA State Championship. DMV’s League will count for both Maryland and Virginia.

“I’m personally a big fan of the league,” says Justin Day, representative for DMV Pinball League. “It’s structured but still fun and social, just like bowling, darts or pool.”

$40 gets you: 8 weeks of pinball, play in groups, win a pinball machine, 5 locations to at play once weekly (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday or Thursday). Players can play as a guest for no fee to try it out.
