Woman Attacked On Loudoun Trail, LCSO Investigating As Attempted Abduction
A woman was attacked on a Loudoun County walking trail on Wednesday. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is still looking for the suspect.
LOWES ISLAND, VA – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported assault and abduction attempt on Wednesday night in the Sterling area.
According to the LCSO, deputies responded to the area of Algonkian Parkway and Lowes Island Boulevard at about 8:30 p.m., where they say a woman on a walking trail was grabbed by an unknown man. The woman was able to fight her way free and call emergency services.
The suspect remains on the loose. He’s described as a Hispanic man in his 20s with a wide build, wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

According to WJLA, the man reportedly grabbed the woman around the neck from behind and tried to grab her by her ponytail. They say the woman ran across the parkway to a drugstore when she escaped his grasp and called 911 from the business.
The LCO says the incident is under investigation. They’re asking anyone who might have seen someone matching the suspect’s description or who might have other information about the incident to call them.

The LCSO is also requesting that nearby residents and businesses review surveillance or doorbell camera footage recorded between 5:00 p.m. and midnight on Wednesday, July 15, for any suspicious activity or individuals matching this description.
