Woman Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash: Loudoun Sheriff

The crash happened in Ashburn just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning, officials said.

ASHBURN, VA — A woman is dead following a single-vehicle car crash that happened in Ashburn over the weekend. According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred just before 2 a.m. Saturday as the car was traveling eastbound on Ashburn Farm Parkway between Starflower Way and Summerwood Circle.

Officials said the car, a 2007 Toyota Scion, left the road and at one point became airborne, crossed the westbound lanes, hit a utility pole, and drove through a residential fence before coming to a stop.

The woman and a man were both thrown from the vehicle, officials said. The man was taken to Reston Hospital Center, where he is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit. Officials are asking any potential witnesses to the crash to contact Investigator S. Allen at 703-737-8308.
