Xanax-Laced Drinks Suspected at Sterling Schools: Police

Police are investigating incidents of students at two Sterling schools sharing drinks laced with Xanax, according to the LCSO.

STERLING, VA — Police are investigating a report that multiple students shared drinks purposefully laced with the anti-depressant drug Xanax Friday at River Bend Middle School, 46200 block of Algonkian Parkway, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. They're also investigating a similar case involving two students the same day at Potomac Falls High School, 46400 block of Algonkian Parkway.

School Resource officers are trying to figure out whether the students knew what was in the drinks and where the Xanax was obtained. Seven students at River Bend were examined by a school nurse but no one had to be hospitalized. The students were sent home with a parent. At Potomac Falls, a School Resource officer reported that one student was acting strangely, and another student later was found to be in possession of a Xanax mixture.
