• Bland County's newest K-9 officer named after Hitachi (wvva.com) — Bland County's sheriff's office just introduced Hitachi, a new K-9 officer named in honor of one of the county's largest employers, which donated tactical gear for the unit. The 13‑month‑old Dutch Shepherd and his handler, First Sgt. Tyler Stewart, have completed narcotics detection training and are already working local streets to enhance safety for residents and employees.
