• Submit Your Best Shots for Photo Contest! (bridgewater.blog) — Bridgewater residents are invited to submit up to five photos for the town's annual contest, with top entries displayed at Sipe Center and in the Spring Activities Calendar. Categories include Life in Bridgewater and more, with free entry for town residents and a special Young Photographers award. Entries are due October 5, with online displays and winner announcements October 7–9.
• Brotherhood on Wheels raises over $2,000 for Bridgewater teen in need of kidney transplant (whsv.com) — A Bridgewater family is getting regional support as their 13-year-old daughter Jayden, who needs a second kidney transplant and is treated at UVA Children's Hospital, faces major medical challenges. The Brotherhood on Wheels motorcycle club recently held a benefit ride from Harrisonburg, raising over $2,000 to ease some of the family's financial burden and highlight community generosity.
• Flock Safety Camera Privacy Concerns: What Towns Are Finding (techwalla.com) — Bridgewater's five Flock license plate cameras were reportedly queried over 7 million times by outside agencies, including for immigration checks, before Virginia halted out-of-state data sharing. The piece explains how ALPR systems work, the privacy and oversight questions they raise, and how towns from Bridgewater to Lebanon, Ohio, are rethinking contracts, retention rules, and who can search residents' driving data.
