4 Displaced After West Springfield Townhouse Fire

No one was home when the fire broke out, and there were no reported injuries.

WEST SPRINGFIELD, VA — Four people are displaced after a Tuesday townhouse fire in West Springfield, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Around 12:51 p.m., units responded to the 8400 block of Grenoble Court and found light smoke coming from the middle unit townhouse. Crews quickly located and extinguished a fire in the kitchen. There were no injuries.

No one was home when the fire started. A neighbor had discovered the fire and called 911.

Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was a burner left on that ignited nearby combustibles. Damages were estimated to be $93,750.

Red Cross assistance was declined.
