93-Year-Old Fairfax County Man Dies After Crash In Burke Intersection: Police

An elderly man who was the passenger in a car involved in a two-car accident in a Fairfax intersectio has died.

BURKE, VA – A 93-year-old man has died as a result of injuries from a car accident in Burke on Sunday, Fairfax police announced.

Gerald Brook, 93, of Springfield, was a passenger in a 2010 Nissan Altima traveling north on Fairfax County Parkway at about 2:15 p.m. when the Nissan struck a 2017 Toyota 4Runner traveling east on Burke Lake Road in the intersection of the two roadways, according to a Fairfax County Police Department release.

Brook was taken to a hospital, and died of his injuries on Monday.

Police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors for the driver of the Toyota in the incident. They are still investigating the speed of the Nissan.
