• Renovations begin this fall at seven Fairfax County playgrounds (ffxnow.com) — Playground renovations at Burke Lake Park this fall will temporarily close two popular play areas, including the one near Shelter A and the ice cream stand, as Fairfax County upgrades accessibility and equipment. Several other county playgrounds are also being refreshed, and voters will soon decide on a major park bond to fund more improvements.
