β’ Fairfax County police officer charged with shoplifting (wtop.com) β A Fairfax County police officer is facing two misdemeanor shoplifting charges after allegedly switching barcodes at the Target on New Guinea Road in Burke while on duty and in uniform, and later at Springfield Mall. He has been placed on administrative leave while the department investigates, and the police chief publicly condemned the alleged misconduct as a serious breach of public trust.
