Man Found Dead On Road In Fairfax Station: Police

A man was found dead in an apparent homicide, Fairfax County Police say.

A man was found dead in Fairfax Station Friday morning in what police believe could be a homicide.

At 6:49 a.m., police responded to the 6500 block of Colchester road after a person found a body on the side of the road. The victim's body showed upper body trauma. Michael Cooker, 30, of Herndon, was pronounced dead by responding medics.

There were no weapons found in the area. Police do not believe there is a threat to the public at this time.

Fairfax Station Road at Colchester Road is closed as police investigate on scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
