Assistance League Serves Children Across Northern Virginia

Learn More About the Non-Profit's Programs

Assistance League of Northern Virginia works with 11 Title 1 elementary schools to serve children in need throughout Northern Virginia. The non-profit provides students at these schools with food, clothing, reading assistance and Hugs comfort pillows. During the covid pandemic the organization has suspended its Weekend Food for Kids program and has instead been providing grocery gift cards to help meet food needs. Since last April, the organization has distributed about 6,600 gift cards, valued at more than $132,000.

Assistance League programs are supported by donations and grants as well as various fundraising efforts. Current fundraising efforts include the sale of 2021 White House Ornaments and a wonderful offering of Spring Flower Bulbs. Visit Assistance League’s website www.alnv.org for more information about the charity’s programs and the opportunities to support them by purchasing items for yourself or as gifts for family and friends.
