Attempted Carjacking at Gunpoint in Burke: Police

Fairfax County Police say that there was an attempted carjacking early Friday in Burke.

The incident took place Friday at 12:41 a.m. at 5800 block of Cove Landing Drive (see Google map) in Burke, police said.

The victim was sitting in his vehicle and was approached by a man, police said. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money and the victim’s vehicle, police said.

The victim backed up his vehicle and the suspect discharged one round, striking the front of the vehicle, police said. The victim was able to flee and call police. The victim was not physically injured.
