Burke Area Restaurant Inspections: Jersey Mike's, Taco Bamba, More

BURKE, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from Burke and Springfield inspections in early October. Among the violations was mold growing on strawberries at AMC Theatres in Tysons Corner Center. The violation was corrected during the inspection.

violations: fried chicken cooling while covered with plastic wrap, foods cold holding at improper temperatures (both corrected), shelves on cookline have accumulation of grime and debris

Jersey Mike's Subs: 5250-G Port Royal Road, SPRINGFIELD, VA 22151, last inspection: Oct. 5

violations: employee did not wash hands after activity that could contaminate food, employee handling raw then ready-to-eat foods without changing gloves (corrected)

Manna Restaurant: 9528 Burke Rd, Burke, VA 22015, last inspection: Oct. 10

violations: potential cross contamination of raw foods, foods cold holding at improper temperatures (both corrected), walk-in cooler and prep cooler not operating properly
