Burke Farmers Market Reopens In April

BURKE, VA—With the weather warming up, we're all ready to head outdoors to pick out local produce from our farmers markets. The wait is over for patrons of the Burke Farmers Market as it returns Saturday, April 13. The farmers market is held each Saturday through Dec. 21 from 8 a.m.-noon in the VRE parking lot, 5671 Roberts Parkway.

This year's farmers market boasts 29 vendors:

• Baker Inc: meat, Shenandoah County, Va.
• Blue Ridge Dairy Co: dairy, baked goods, Loudoun County, Va.
• Boso Foods: nuts, packaged foods, Fairfax County, Va.
• Bread & Water Company: baked goods, prepared foods, confections, Fairfax County, Va.
• Chase Your Tail Bakery: pet treats, Loudoun County, Va.
• Glascock's Produce: produce, herbs, packaged foods, eggs, baked goods, Morgan County, W.Va.
• Great Harvest Bread Company: baked goods, packaged foods, Fairfax County, Va.
• Honey Brook Farms: meat, produce, dairy, packaged foods, baked goods, plants, Culpeper County, Va.
• House of Empanadas: packaged foods, Fairfax County, Va.
• Java Jen's Coffee Roasters: prepared foods, packaged foods, beverages, Loudoun County, Va.
• Kiwi Kuisine: baked goods, beverages, packaged foods, Alexandria, Va.
• Laurel Grove Farms: produce, herbs, Westmoreland County Va.

The Burke Farmers Market is one of 10 farmers markets operated under the Fairfax County Park Authority. The markets are strictly producer-only, meaning vendors items are raised on their farms or made from scratch. All vendors come from a 125 mile radius of Fairfax County.

Pets are not permitted at farmers markets with the exception of service animals.
