Burke Man Was In Crosswalk When Fatally Struck By Driver: Police

Fairfax County Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian who was in a crosswalk on Guinea Road at Olley Lane in Burke.

BURKE, VA — Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department’s crash reconstruction unit are continuing to investigate a crash that killed a pedestrian who was in a crosswalk on Guinea Road at Olley Lane in Burke.

Detectives determined Llyod Ingram, 58, of Burke, was crossing Guinea Road from north to south at Olley Lane inside the crosswalk around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday when a person driving a 2013 Kia Forte struck Ingram in the road, according to police.

Ingram was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the Kia was traveling east on Guinea Road when they struck Ingram. The driver of the Kia remained at the scene. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.

Details of the police’s investigation into the fatal crash will be presented to the Fairfax County’s Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for review, police said.

Ingram’s death is the sixth pedestrian fatality in the county in 2022. At this time in 2021, three pedestrian fatalities had occurred, police said.

Anonymous tipsters are eligible for cash rewards of $100 to $1,000 dollars if their information leads to an arrest.
