Burke Playground Set on Fire Wednesday: Police

Police say two teens face multiple charges, including arson, after Burke playground was set on fire early Wednesday.

BURKE, VA -- Police say two teenagers face multiple charges Wednesday and are suspects in a fire set early Wednesday morning at a Burke playground.

Police and Fire department personnel responded to the playground on fire Wednesday morning around 5:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of Fenestra Court in Burke (see map below), according to FCPD.

Police say an alert resident called to provide a description of "two suspicious people seen in the area." After the fire was extinguished, officers and a K9 began their search for the suspects, police said.

Police located two men, and an investigation determined they allegedly set the fire, police said. Damage to the playground is estimated to be more than $1,000.

In collaboration with the Fire Marshal’s Office, police say multiple charges were placed:

Nebyou Ayle, 18, of Fairfax was charged with felony Arson, felony Destruction of Property, and Possession of a Schedule IV Narcotic.

Russell Hann, 19, of Fredericksburg, was charged with felony Arson, felony Destruction of Property, and False Identification to Law Enforcement.
