Chick-fil-A Opening In Burke: First 100 Campout Details

Would you camp out for free Chick-fil-A? A location is opening in Burke, and the first 100 get chicken meals for a year.

(Updated 6 p.m. Monday) BURKE, VA—We often hear of people camping out to be first in line for a concert or the latest iPhone, but would you do this for free Chick-Fil-A?

Well, many fans of the famous chicken sandwich have done this during restaurant openings across the country. The fast food chain is opening a location in Burke (5815 Burke Centre Parkway) Thursday, July 27 and is giving away prizes to customers who camp out as part of its First 100 Campout tradition.

During the First 100 Campout promotion, customers arrive 24 hours before the store's opening. Customers wait in tents in hopes of being among the first 100 receive a card loaded with free meals for a year (52 meals). According to the fast food chain, the contest begins 6 a.m. Wednesday.

But there's a catch. The contest is limited to residents in certain zip codes, and customers must verify their address with a valid ID. Customers will wait in line, and if there's more than 100 people, a drawing will be held. See more details here. The restaurant will also be collecting children's books and pack 10,000 meals for local charities. Customers can park at the Safeway parking lot in the Burke Centre Shopping Center.

The new store's operator Nick Fulgencio is a Northern Virginia native. He has been with the company since getting a job at the Woodbridge store in high school. In 2012, he went from being a team member to owner of the Dulles Town Center Chick-fil-A.

"I look forward to welcoming guests to our new Burke location and continuing a tradition of freshly prepared food served in an inviting atmosphere by team members who truly care," said Fulgencio in a statement.

The store's hours will be Monday through Saturday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
