Erickson Senior Living Honors Michael Ritt and Kelsey Ficca as Leadership Award Winners

Greenspring Executive Chef Michael Ritt honored his exceptional leadership.

Erickson Senior Living, a nation-leading developer and manager of continuing care retirement communities, is proud to announce that Executive Chef Michael Ritt of Greenspring in Springfield, Va., and Assistant Administrator of Continuing Care Kelsey Ficca of Wind Crest in Highlands Ranch, Colo., are the recipients of the annual Erickson Senior Living Leadership Award. They were honored at the company’s Leadership Summit in Baltimore, Md., in early March.

The two were selected from a distinguished group of 23 leaders, one from each Erickson Senior Living’s communities across the country and its home office, who were recognized for their commitment to people, culture, and excellence.

Executive Chef Michael Ritt was celebrated for his exceptional leadership, his dedicated efforts to expand and elevate the culinary team, and his commitment to introducing plant-based dining across the Greenspring community. His genuine connection with residents further highlights the positive impact he makes every day.

“Chef Michael sets the standard for excellence at Greenspring, cultivating a One Team culture and elevating both our culinary program and our community experience, ensuring the highest level of service to residents,” said Greenspring Executive Director Karyn Flannagan.

Assistant Administrator Kelsey Ficca was honored for her leadership, commitment to excellence, and innovation. Ficca played an instrumental role in overseeing the expansion of assisted living and memory care services at Wind Crest with the opening of the new Bowen Landing residence building in January 2025. The project included adding four new leadership team members and 50 new care staff to provide the highest-quality care to residents.

“Kelsey’s exceptional leadership inspired her team and fostered a culture of caring, collaboration, and excellence, resulting in outstanding service and support for our residents. She took on additional responsibilities this year with determination, professionalism, and grace,” said Wind Crest Executive Director Craig Erickson.
