Fairfax Prize Presentation: Michael Chabon

Chabon—whose novels include the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, The Yiddish Policeman's Union, and most recently, Telegraph Avenue—accepts the 2012 Fairfax Prize, whose recipients are recognized for writing and publishing works that contribute significantly to American or international culture; generously giving personal time and talents to the development of literature and literary endeavors; mentoring younger writers; and giving special service to the community of writers, such as editing anthologies or journals that give opportunities for publication to other writers. Presented by the 14th annual Fall for the Book Festival. Sponsored by the Fairfax Library Foundation.
