The basketball season at George Mason University kicks off Friday with Mason Madness.
The event starts at 9:30 p.m. at the Patriot Center. The Patriots cheerleaders wil perform along with groups Doc Nix and the Green Machine, UrbanKnowlogy and the Masonettes.
Men’s basketball head coach Paul Hewitt and women’s basketball coach Jeri Porter will speak. Both teams will take part in on-court activities as the women will challenge each other in a skills competition and the men will play the annual Green vs. Gold scrimmage.
