USTA/Mid-Atlantic Section's Alanna Broderick will train casual and serious tennis players alike to coach adults and kids during a Recreational Coach Workshop. These workshops cover everything a player needs to transform into a coach to support local tennis programs in neighborhoods and parks. The day includes learning to teach kids QuickStart tennis — even indoors – using portable nets, and the lighter and shorter racquets, and lighter and low-compression red, orange and green tennis balls. (Yes, kids and beginning adults really can learn tennis fast and begin to enjoy tennis with this new gear!) Organizers request a $5 lunch break fee for the workshop. This tennis workshop will occur on a Saturday in between the Fairfax County parks Spring and Summer “Parktakes” class sessions, making it easier for people to participate.
