First Day Of School 2021: See Photos From Fairfax County
Public and private schools welcomed back students for the new school year, including some that hadn't been in person since March 2020.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Schools in Fairfax County welcomed students back for the 2021-2022 school year Monday.
Fairfax County Public Schools is starting the year with five days of in-person learning. Some students are just returning to in-person learning for the first time since March 2020, as only students who opted into hybrid learning returned to buildings during the middle of the last school year. Numerous private schools are also welcoming students back for a new school year this week.
First day of school photos are a tradition for many families, providing a memorable keepsake from the first day of kindergarten to senior year of high school. We asked Patch readers to submit their first day photos in Fairfax.
