On Saturday, November 6th, Food For Neighbors held its second major food collection and sorting event of this school year. Community members gathered and sorted food in five Northern Virginia areas: Herndon, Springfield, Falls Church, Fort Hunt, and Sterling. Thanks to over 1,100 generous community members, the nonprofit collected over 17,000 pounds of food. The Springfield Area alone collected 4,295 pounds!

This food will help to provide food security to vulnerable students in 25 schools in Fairfax County and Loudoun County. Schools served in the Springfield area include :

West Springfield High School,
Irving Middle School,
Lewis High School,
Key Middle School,
Edison High School, and
Twain Middle School.
