Free Concerts At Burke Lake Park Kick Off In July

The first-ever Springfield Nights kick off Wednesday night at Burke Lake Park.

IF you're looking for free summer entertainment, Burke Lake Park has you covered. The first-ever Springfield Nights kicks off Wednesday, July 11.

Bring your family and dinner to Burke Lake Park for musical performances, each led off with Fairfax County high school musicians. Performances will range from bluegrass to pop, rock and R&B and will be held Wednesdays at 7 p.m. from July 11 through August 15.

Picnics, blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. For last minute performance cancellations due to inclement weather, call 703-324-SHOW (7469) one hour before the event would begin.

Here is the full performance schedule:

  • July 11: Randy Thompson Band (Americana/Country/Roots Rock)
  • July 18: The David Kitchen Band (Pop/Rock)
  • July 25: The Johnny Artis Band (R&B)
  • Aug. 1: Ruthie & the Wranglers (American Roots)
  • Aug. 8: The Colin Thompson Band (Blues/Rock)
  • Aug. 15: Dr. FU (Rock/Cover Band)

The events are held in partnership with Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity, supporters of Springfield Nights, Fairfax County Park Authority, Fairfax County Park Foundation and sponsors.
