Kids serving the community

St Andrews Mission Friends spend the week in service

Youth from St Andrew's church again met for Mission Friends camp to do service projects for the community all week long! We had 17 youth, from 9 - 15 years old who worked hard all week on projects like making a quilt for kids graduating from the foster care program, making fleece blankets for the kids at Inova Children's Hospital, filling toiletry blessing bags for the homeless, organizing food donations for our preschool's program to feed hungry school kids over the weekends, scrubbed preschool chairs, and prepping materials for the church's Vacation Bible School. The youth earned service hours they can use for their public school requirements but more importantly they gained a sense of accomplishment and pride by helping others in their community.

This program happens every summer at St Andrew's Episcopal Church in Burke, VA. Come see what we are all about!!
