Lake Braddock Secondary Closed Monday Due to Bomb Threat

Lake Braddock Secondary School is closed Monday due to a bomb threat, according to Fairfax County Public Schools.

Fairfax County Police completed a sweep of the school Monday morning by about 9:30 a.m.

According to WTOP, a threatening email was sent to the school.

The school was initially on a two-hour delay, but Fairfax County Police were still sweeping the building.

Here’s a message sent out this morning from FCPS:

“Out of an abundance of caution, Lake Braddock SS will be closed today 3/23 in order to allow police to investigate the earlier bomb threat.”

A spokesman for the school system told WTOP that police dogs were being used in the sweep of the building; parents were notified at 6 a.m. Monday, the spokesman told the station.
