Man Dies In Crash At Burke Centre Library: Police

Police believe the driver had a medical emergency leading to the crash.

BURKE, VA—A driver died in a one-vehicle crash at the Burke Centre Library Saturday, according to Fairfax County Police.

The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. Saturday. Investigators believe the driver was dropping mail in the postal box on the sidewalk before he sped across the parking lot. Witnesses told police his Ford F-150 hit an unoccupied parked Hyundai Accent, which also crashed into a Mazda 3.

The driver received life-saving aid and was taken to the hospital. The driver was identified as John Jasper, 72, of Fairfax Station.

No one else was injured. Police believe Jasper suffered a medical emergency which led to the crash.
