Man Drowns Trying To Save Dog In Lake Braddock

BURKE, VA—A man drowned in Lake Braddock Saturday evening, according to Fairfax County Police.

Units responded to drowning near the 9400 block of Goshen Lane. Police believe the man's dog got loose on a walking path. Witnesses saw him go into the lake to rescue the dog. He went underwater and did not resurface, police said.

After a search of the lake, The man was found and pronounced dead. The victim was identified as Nghia Trinh, 28, of Burke. His dog was safely recovered from the lake.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
