MD Man Charged After Gun Seen At Springfield Mall

A Maryland man was charged after a gun was brandished during a domestic incident Saturday night at Springfield Town Center.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — A Maryland man was charged after a gun was brandished during a domestic incident Saturday night at Springfield Town Center.

Fairfax County police detectives arrested Dandre Mersier, 23, as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of brandishing of a firearm. A police news release did not list a hometown for Mersier.

Police received reports a man was brandishing a firearm inside the mall shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday. No shots were fired, officicials said.

"There are no confirmed gunshots or any reported injuries," said Fairfax County Police. "Businesses have returned to normal operations."

The complainant told officers Mersier brandished a firearm inside a store after an argument. Officers cleared the mall and directed several businesses to shelter in place as a precaution.

On Monday, Mersier turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The warrant was served, and he is being held without bond.
