During Tuesday's Board of Supervisor's meeting, the public hearing on whether to consider an ordinance that might, in fact, prohibit plastic bags for yard waste, was deferred indefinitely.
The Board voted unanimously to approve the motion of Supervisor Pat Herrity (R-Springfield) to immediately do whatever it takes to get the word out that there's no approved ban in the county.

"I am glad our residents will have the ability to weigh in on any attempt to ban plastic bags for yard waste and that the County is clarifying that no ban currently exists," Herrity said in a statement. "I believe a ban would negatively impact our residents and our recycling efforts."
