One Man Dead in Springfield Area Fire
Firefighters were called to a single family home on fire shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday.
One man is dead Thursday morning after a fire at a West Springfield home, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. The department sent out a message about the fire fatality on social media.
The fire destroyed a home in the 5600 block of Southhampton Drive in West Springfield, according to the department.
Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the house fire at 6:04 a.m., according to a report by WTOP.Ā Police have not identified the man.

In all, four people from the home were taken to the hospital. WJLA reported that two people were injured.
The fire is under investigation.
