Pedestrian Dies After Burke Crash: Police
A pedestrian crossing Burke Centre Parkway was struck and died over the weekend, Fairfax County Police say.
BURKE, VA — A pedestrian died days after a Friday, Nov. 8 crash in Burke, according to Fairfax County Police.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Burke Centre Parkway and Pond Spice Lane. The pedestrian had been crossing Burke Centre Parkway when an eastbound vehicle proceeding through the intersection struck him. The intersection has a traffic signal, and the pedestrian was in the vicinity of a crosswalk.
The pedestrian, Fesha Girma, 37, of Burke was taken to the hospital and died Sunday.

The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with police. Investigations found speed and alcohol were not likely factors for the driver in the crash. Police have not determined if alcohol was involved for the pedestrian. No charges have been announced.
