Person Rescued From Trench In Burke-Fairfax Station Area

A person trapped under concrete in a trench was rescued by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Wednesday afternoon.

FAIRFAX STATION, VA — A person was rescued from a trench in the Burke/Fairfax Station area Wednesday, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

A technical rescue crew responded to the 10800 block of Fournier Drive, which is just south of the Fairfax County Parkway. Units encountered a person trapped under concrete in trench and worked on extrication.

The police helicopter responded to Fairfax County Parkway for potential medivac transport. The patient ended up being taken to the hospital by ambulance. The person has non-life-threatening injuries.
