Residents Rescued After Tree Falls Onto Burke Home
Four people were present when a tree fell onto the home, according to the fire department.

BURKE, VA—Firefighters came to the rescue when a large tree fell onto a Burke area home Sunday night.
Around 8:24 p.m., Fairfax County and Rescue responded to Kerry Lane. Four people were home at the time, and two safely escaped. Firefighters used ladders to rescue the other two residents. No one was injured.
Fairfax County is under a high wind warning through 6 p.m. Monday. The National Weather Service says strong winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph are likely. The strongest winds will happen Monday morning. Impacts could include downed power lines and trees and power outages.

Other impacts from the strong winds are road closures. Fairfax County Police reported closures in the 8000 block of Gosport Lane and Moultrie Road at Gosport Lane due to downed power lines.
