Tacky Christmas Lights: Where Are They in Burke?

BURKE, VA — Some see them as a badge of honor. Some see them as a badge of indignity. Others — namely, kids — see them as a wonder of the holiday season.

Yep. We're talking Christmas lights taken to the nth degree on various front yards throughout the nation.

It has become such a thing that there's even a network TV show on ABC called "The Great Christmas Light Fight."

Well, there are a lot of homes in Burke, so many that sometimes one is left to wonder if that's all there is in Burke — homes.

But toward that end, Patch has a request.

Tell us about so-called "tacky" holiday lights displays, or, better yet send us pictures and post them to our Facebook page.

Each year a local Web site, “Holly’s Tacky Christmas Lights,” ranks amazing local light displays.

Amazing, of course, is in the eye of the beholder.

Never mind, though. Please give us examples of Burke's homage to the spectacle.
