VRE Train Slams Into Unoccupied Vehicle in Clifton: Fire Department

The driver became stuck on the track and exited the vehicle before the train hit it, according to Fairfax County Fire & Rescue. No injuries.

CLIFTON, VA — A Virginia Railway Express train slammed into an unoccupied vehicle around 6 p.m. Thursday but no one was hurt, according to Fairfax County Fire & Rescue.

The vehicle became stuck on the track and the driver bailed before the train hit the vehicle.

No one on the train was injured, and the locomotive had only minor damage.
