Wolf Trap’s Summer Lineup Brings Broadway, Rock and Symphonic Sound

Just 20 minutes across the river from D.C and a half hour drive from Burke in Vienna is Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, the only national park in the United States dedicated specifically to the performing arts.

Founded in 1986, Wolf Trap has hosted nearly 4,000 performances, packing every summer with outdoor and indoor-venue events and this summer is no exception.

Lauren Daigle and Preservation Hall Jazz Band

You can see Grammy-winning, Christian singer-songwriter Lauren Daigle on her non-tour concert run on Thursday, June 11 at 8:00 p.m. The “You Say” singer released her most recent single “Let It Be A Hallelujah” in August of last year.

Opening for Daigle is the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, a historically all-Black jazz band that was founded and is based in New Orleans. The band first came together in the early 1960s and withholds their mission of perpetuating the art of New Orleans jazz. For the band, the show is a part of their “Jazz Band Tour” following the release of their album “For Fat Man.”

Broadway in the Park featuring Tituss Burgess and Heather Headley

On June 20, nine past and upcoming Broadway stars team up for Wolf Trap’s sixth annual Broadway in the Park. Tituss Burgess, who has been on and off Broadway for two-decades, has most notably been in “Oh, Mary!” and Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Heather Headley spent her time on Broadway in “The Lion King,” “Aida” and “The Color Purple.”

Young The Giant with Cold War Kids

Following the release of their sixth album “Victory Garden,” Young The Giant is in the midst of their world tour and will be at Wolf Trap on June 12. The “Cough Syrup” singers frequently appear in the U.S. Alternative songs chart and have been together as a band for 15 years and self-wrote this album on writing retreats.

The Cold War Kids are an American indie rock band from Long Beach, California, currently touring North America with Young The Giant. The band has 10 studio albums together spanning from 2007 to 2023.

St. Vincent and the National Symphony Orchestra

Anne Erin Clark, who goes by St. Vincent, is a musician, singer and songwriter who is known for her guitar playing. Clark has six Grammy awards for her original music as well as her star studded credits such as co-writing Taylor Swift’s hit single “Cruel Summer,” playing the bass for Paul McCartney and playing guitar in Olivia Rodrigo’s “Obsessed.” The high-profile musician will be joined by the National Symphony Orchestra on June 25 to play some of her favorite songs from her versatile career.

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert

The National Symphony Orchestra returns to Wolf Trap to perform the Oscar-nominated music from Return of the Jedi live while the movie plays. 2025-2026 is the 95th season that the National Symphony Orchestra has played. Gianandrea Noseda is the programs’ seventh music conductor and she is in the middle of her ninth season as conductor.
