2. Planned transfer of Centreville library site to housing authority set for public hearing (ffxnow.com) — Centreville residents could soon see their regional library transformed and paired with about 180 affordable apartments, as Fairfax County prepares a Sept. 29 public hearing on transferring the Saint Germain Drive site to the housing authority. The $37 million project would fix chronic building issues, add community space, and advance a broader vision for a more walkable, mixed-use Centreville.

3. Crossing guards return to Fairfax County high schools after student struck near South Lakes (wusa9.com) — Crossing guards and police officers are being temporarily restored at 11 Fairfax County high school locations, including those serving Centreville High, while officials reassess pedestrian safety after a student was struck near South Lakes High.
