FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A Fairfax County Public Schools employee is charged with grand larceny after he stole tools from a woodworking classroom at Chantilly High School, authorities said.
Trevor Papavasiliou, 34, of Culpeper, turned himself in Thursday on a warrant at the Fair Oaks District Station, according to the Fairfax County Police Department, which noted he has since been released on recognizance.
Papavasiliou, a facilities employee, was suspended from his position following his arrest, authorities said. He has been employed with Fairfax County Public Schools since 2022.
The police investigation of the theft began May 29, when a school resource officer was notified that an employee had stolen a bag of tools from a woodworking class, according to the department. The tools were estimated to be worth about $1,200, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact authorities at 866-411-8477 or via the P3 Tips app, according to the department, which noted that anonymous tipsters are eligible for a cash reward. Tipsters should leave contact information if they wish for a detective to follow up.
