1. Paisano's Expands Free Pizza Slice Program To Anyone In Need (patch.com) — Residents in and around Chantilly can now receive free pizza slices from Paisano's through an expanded Community Slice Program that serves anyone in need, not just children. 2. Developer submits plans to build fuel cell-powered data center in Chantilly (ffxnow.com) — A major 312,000-square-foot data center is proposed for the Stonecroft Boulevard and Lee Road corner in Chantilly, using natural-gas fuel cells to reduce strain on the power grid and local pollution. Fairfax County must approve a special exception because of the building's size, and a noise study and infrastructure plans are already in place as data center development continues to expand along Stonecroft Boulevard.
3. F-117A Nighthawk Bound For Smithsonian Air and Space Museum (aero-news.net) — Chantilly residents will soon be able to see a historic F-117A Nighthawk stealth aircraft at the Udvar-Hazy Center, as the jet arrives to join the Smithsonian's permanent collection. The uniquely nicknamed "Overachiever" flew in multiple major conflicts before retiring, and its move required a complex cross-country airlift in a C-5M Super Galaxy.
4. The B-26 Marauder Flak-Bait flew more than 200 combat missions in World War II, more than any other U.S. aircraft, the Smithsonian says (newsbreak.com) — A famed World War II B-26 bomber, Flak-Bait, is being carefully preserved and reassembled at the Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, where visitors can view the work in progress. The Smithsonian details its remarkable record of more than 200 combat missions and explains how historians reconciled conflicting mission counts using archival records and markings painted on the aircraft's fuselage.
5. Defense Watch: AUSA Week, Aussie Hivemind, Troublemaker (defensedaily.com subscription) — Chantilly's Udvar-Hazy Center is preparing to display an F-117A Nighthawk nicknamed "Overachiever," recently flown in by C-5M Galaxy for the Smithsonian. Around that update, the piece surveys new Army modernization efforts, counter-drone technologies, and defense contracts shaping everything from autonomous systems to advanced encryption and rapid component manufacturing.
