Neighbors can stop by between 10 a.m. and noon to share memories, wish her well before she moves to New York, and enjoy light refreshments at the library.
2. A motion to hire him immediately was ruled out on procedural grounds, and the board approved its personnel list except for athletic director positions, leaving the final decision still unresolved.
3. In 2015, a storm flooded and destroyed a Virginia wildlife refuge beach parking lot; now officials are moving it 2.5 miles north so dunes and saltmarsh can reclaim the old site (pressnewsagency.org) — Visitor access at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge is set to change as officials move the recreational beach and parking about 2.5 miles north to a more stable site. The shift aims to keep similar parking capacity while letting the old lot revert to dunes and saltmarsh, improving wildlife habitat and storm protection, with the new beach possibly opening in spring 2027.
