Nearby Pittsylvania, Henry, Halifax counties and Martinsville also saw modest declines, but still pay more than Danville. The statewide average now stands at $3.76 per gallon.
2. Caesars Virginia is on track to surpass $1 billion in revenue (wset.com) — Danville's Caesars Virginia casino is nearing $1 billion in total revenue, sending millions into city coffers for schools, parks, and economic development. 3. God's Pit Crew sending relief supplies to those affected by torrential flooding in Indiana (wsls.com) — A Danville-based nonprofit is rolling out a tractor-trailer of relief supplies from its local headquarters to help families hit by catastrophic flooding in Indiana. God's Pit Crew volunteers packed Blessing Buckets and children's Play Pails that will be distributed through a partner ministry. Residents here can support the effort by donating online or by phone to keep trucks on the road.
4. New Virginia hemp restrictions force some Southside businesses to close (wset.com) — New Virginia limits on THC in hemp products just forced one Danville shop, THE Dispensary, to close and are squeezing other local retailers like Kure. The rules cap total THC per package at 2 milligrams, leaving many popular gummies, vapes, and tinctures unsellable and raising worries about lost jobs, stranded inventory, and fewer options for residents who rely on hemp products.
