• JUST IN: AFD extinguishes small fire on Metro tracks at Braddock Road station (alxnow.com) — A small fire on the tracks at Braddock Road Metro, just south of Del Ray, briefly halted a train and prompted an Alexandria Fire Department response early Tuesday evening. Firefighters quickly extinguished a smoking crosstie, Metro temporarily single-tracked trains, and service resumed with some lingering delays for Blue and Yellow Line riders.
