• 31st Annual Art on the Avenue (alxnow.com) — Del Ray's biggest annual street festival, Art on the Avenue, returns Saturday, Oct. 3, filling Mount Vernon Avenue with more than 350 artists, live music, food, and kids' activities. The free, volunteer-run event highlights the neighborhood's diversity and offers easy access via Metro shuttles and bike valet for anyone planning to spend the day exploring.
   

• Blown transformer likely behind power outages for thousands along Route 1 in Alexandria (alxnow.com) — Del Ray residents experienced Tuesday morning power outages tied to a likely blown transformer at Mount Vernon and E. Nelson avenues, with thousands of Dominion Energy customers affected along Route 1. Crews reduced outages from nearly 7,000 to about 2,200 by midmorning, with most Del Ray and nearby neighborhoods expected to see power restored between late morning and midafternoon.
   

• DMV Fall Art Exhibitions: Banksy, Nepenthe & Alexandria Art (thezebra.org) — Del Ray residents can explore a new Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit at Del Ray Artisans through September 26, with free admission and an opening reception on September 4. The piece also highlights other Alexandria galleries, including Galactic Panther and Nepenthe, showcasing pop art, Banksy-themed talks, and the Alexandria Experience exhibition running into late October.
