Crime Report: Theft at Potomac Yard AT&T Store

Aug. 7 — A suspect was arrested at 12:43 a.m. for possession of an open container of alcohol at the corner of Executive Avenue and Russell Road.

Aug. 6 — An assault between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other was reported at 12:38 a.m. in the 500 block of Four Mile Road.

Aug. 6 — An arrest was made at 8:50 a.m. in the 1500 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue for possession of an open container of alcohol.

Aug. 6 — An arrest was made for shoplifting at 11:47 a.m. in the 3100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

Aug. 5 — An arrest was made for possession of an open container of alcohol at midnight in the 600 block of Notabene Drive.

Aug. 5 — An arrest was made for possession of an open container of alcohol at 12:31 a.m. in the 600 block of Notabene Drive.

Aug. 5 — A traffic stop at the corner of Commonwealth and Masonic View avenues at 2:38 a.m. resulted in an arrest for driving under the influence.

Aug. 4 — An unknown male suspect grabbed an iPhone from the at Potomac Yard and fled. A store employee ran outside and attempted to obtain the license plate as the suspect was driving away. The employee’s leg was struck by the suspect’s car as he drove off. The employee was not seriously injured. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6-foot-2 and he was wearing a red baseball cap, a red-and-white striped shirt and dark pants. The vehicle is described as a silver Mercedes Benz CLK 320. The incident was reported at 6:37 p.m. The case is open.

Aug. 3 — A victim’s house in the 100 block of E. Linden Street was broken into by unknown means. Several electronic devices were taken along with a digital camera. The incident was reported at 2:37 p.m.

Aug. 3 — An arrest was made at 5 p.m. in the 3400 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue for a liquor law violation.

Aug. 3 — An arrest was made for a liquor law violation at 6:45 p.m. in the 2100 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue.

Aug. 3 — A traffic stop in the 3200 block of Gunston Road at 7:37 p.m. resulted in an arrest for driving under the influence.

Aug. 3 — Suspects attempted to break into a residence on Mt. Vernon Avenue. The incident was reported at 9:44 p.m. An investigation continues.

Aug. 2 — A suspected was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 2:08 a.m. in the 3600 block of Edison Street.

Aug. 2 — An unknown Hispanic male was seen attempting to remove the front license plate off of a parked and locked vehicle in the 2100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. The suspect fled when the vehicle’s owner came outside. The incident was reported at 7:09 a.m. The case is pending.

July 31 — An unknown suspect or suspects stole a victim’s front license plate from her vehicle that was parked in her driveway in the 100 block of Ashby Street. The incident was reported at 11 a.m. The case is pending.

July 31 — An unknown suspect or suspects stole a victim’s motor scooter from their garage on E. Monroe Avenue. The incident was reported at 1:54 p.m.

July 31 — A victim reported at 5:06 p.m. that an unknown suspect or suspects enter her vehicle by unknown means and stole an iPod, garage door opener and cell phone charger. The incident occurred in the 200 block of E. Alexandria Avenue. The case is pending.

July 31 — A suspect was arrested at 11 p.m. for possession of an open container of alcohol in the 3800 block of Russell Road.

July 30 — An assault between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other was reported at 3:08 a.m. in the 1400 block of Woodbine Street. The case is open.  

July 30 — A victim reported at 10:53 a.m. that an unknown suspect attempted to enter his residence on Mt. Vernon Avenue by breaking the glass on a rear door, but was scared away by the victim’s presence. The case is pending.

July 30 — A victim reported at 1:39 p.m. that an unknown suspect or suspects entered his unlocked vehicle parked in front of his residence in the 400 block of Argyle Drive and ransacked the interior. The case is pending.

July 30 — A suspect was arrested at 2:06 p.m. for possession of an open container of alcohol in the 3800 block of Executive Avenue.

July 30 — A suspect was arrested at 2:35 p.m. for being drunk in public in the 3800 block of Executive Avenue.

July 30 — A victim reported at 3:21 p.m. that an unknown suspect or suspects entered his vehicle parked in the 3300 block of Landover Street by unknown means and stole his backpack. The case is pending.

July 30 — Unknown suspects broke the rear glass door on a residence on W. Walnut Street and made entry. The suspects took a video game system. The incident was reported at 4:46 p.m.

July 30 — A sexual offense was reported at 6:24 p.m. in the 2900 block of King Street.  The case remains open.

July 30 — A suspect was arrested at 7:11 p.m. for being drunk in public in the 3700 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue.

July 30 — An arrest was made for shoplifting at 11:15 p.m. in the 3100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.
